Abstract
We explore error-correcting codes based on algebraic number fields using a particular code construction given by Guruswami in ``Constructions of Codes from Number Fields". After
reviewing the necessary mathematical background, we analyze the rate and relative distance of the given code, and give an example of an asymptotically good code over an alphabet of size 31.
