This paper addresses the process and inspiration associated with each of my thesis works, as well as providing descriptive narratives relative to the visual experience of the art. My artwork explores the formal effectiveness and appeal of repetition while traversing notions of action, emotional disillusionment, and memory. All this is accessed through the love I have for my grandmother and its effect on me as I have watched her liberate herself from an abusive marriage. Though all the pieces are informed by my personal experience, the work itself does not need a narrative explanation. The viewer is invited and encouraged to glean from it whatever insight or meaning they find personally relevant.en_US
