Resolution 535-11: Policy Restricting Use of Local Funds to Respond to Civil Immigration Detainers

Abstract

In this Resolution, recorded as File Number 111269, the Board of Supervisors of the City and County of San Francisco encourages the Sheriff's Department and the San Francisco Juvenile Probation Department to implement a policy of not honoring civil detainer requests from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) unless there is a prior written agreement with the federal government to ensure the County is reimbursed for the costs incurred by the detainer.
