My artwork explores the formal effectiveness and appeal of repetition while traversing notions of action, emotional disillusionment, and memory. All this is accessed through the love I have for my grandmother and its effect on me as I have watched her liberate herself from an abusive marriage. Though all the pieces are informed by my personal experience, the work itself does not need a narrative explanation. The viewer is invited and encouraged to glean from it whatever insight or meaning they find personally relevant.en-USinstallationperformance artA Sympathetic LadyThesisrestricted
